A Story of Transformation

Pearl Heart Ministries began with a simple desire: to walk alongside children and young people and help them discover their value, their potential, and God’s love for them.

What started as a small initiative has grown into a ministry focused on education, mentoring, and faith in God – believing that real change happens when people are supported both practically and personally.

Why “Pearl Heart”?

During our first year, our work was known as Olwekisa, a Luganda word meaning “by grace.” When the organisation was officially registered in December 2025, we received our new name: Pearl Heart Ministries.

A pearl begins with something very small – a grain of sand. Through time and transformation, it becomes something precious and beautiful.

We believe God works in the same way in people’s lives. Our past, our struggles, or our circumstances do not disqualify us. God can transform hearts and stories and create something beautiful out of them.

Our hope is that everyone connected to Pearl Heart Ministries experiences this transformation and becomes a blessing to their families and communities.

How It Started

In January 2025, we began supporting a few children in villages around Jinja with school supplies and help with school fees.

What was first planned as a small one-year project quickly grew. Soon, 20 children were supported through personal sponsors from Switzerland. From the beginning, we focused not only on financial help but also on building real relationships with the children and their families.

As the ministry grew, more children joined the sponsorship program. We started our Girls Ministry, a six-month mentoring and training program that equips young women for their future.

With increased funding, we were then able to purchase a piece of land later that same year, in a village just outside Jinja. This is an exciting step toward building something lasting for the growing Pearl Heart community.

Our Vision

We want to see children and young adults gain access to quality education and vocational training in environments where they feel:

  • safe

  • loved

  • valued

Through mentoring and faith, we hope to see people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, discover their identity in Him, and develop into compassionate, responsible, and skilled women and men who positively influence their families and communities.

Our Mission

Bringing transformation through education, vocational training, and faith.
